Just when you think you cannot see your own country in a new way anymore, someone surprises you. In this case, it’s the turn of Indian tourist, Pankaj Dhiman, who was on a six-day vacation in Kerala with his wife.
Using primarily his smartphone – though he cheated now and then with a Go-Pro – what Dhiman shot was primarily the aquatic face of Kerala: rivers, backwaters, and the sea. By way of contrast, he threw in some mountain and city scenes too.
Edited to play alongside the musical background provided by Zachary David, this very short video is hypnotic in its slow-moving rhythm, pointing to a part of India where time perhaps does not always move at the frenetic pace of the 21st Century.
