It wasn’t a ghost story, but the Japanese man who tweets as shoumizo3446 would be forgiven for thinking so for a moment when he found his dinner waving at him gently.
Out to eat at Sushiro, a popular Sushi chain in Japan, the diner was struck by what he termed “the tragedy of Sushiro”. His sushi was pretty much still alive when he poked at it with his chopsticks.
The man had ordered “iki hokkigai”, surf clam prepared at the restaurant with seafood delivered alive. But he probably expected it to be, well, dead by the time it was served. Imagine his surprise, therefore, when the clam lifted itself off the rice roll.
As it turns out, @shoumizo3446 did ultimately eat his sushi and reportedly found it delicious.
