Nithya Menen’s next film Praana will be a single-character movie, directed by VK Prakash (Punaradhivasam, Nirnayakam).
Acclaimed cinematographer PC Sreeram will shoot the movie, while Academy Award-winning sound mixer Resul Pookutty will head the sound department and Louiz Banks will score the music.
The multilingual film, which uses surround sync sound, has been shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. “It was a draining exercise; I would be enacting one scene in all four languages,” Menon told The Hindu in an interview. “In surround sync, the ambient noise gets recorded. So if there’s a bird crowing away where it’s not required, I’d have to do it all over again.” The film is now in its post-production stage, and its release date is yet to be fixed.
