What happens when a Kendrick Lamar hip-hop track is combined with visuals from the 1980s Telugu song Chakani Chukkala Sandita? A YouTube video offers the answer to a question you most likely never thought to ask.
A recently uploaded clip on the channel Halley syncs Lamar’s 2017 hit Humble with the video of the dance number from the 1987 Telugu hit Pasivadi Pranam, starring Chiranjeevi, Vijayashanti and Raghuvaran.
Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanti seem to approve thoroughly of Lamar’s music. The duo dance at several locations with multiple costume changes. The choreography and setting both seem to fit right into Humble’s thumping soundtrack. Chakkani Chukka Sandita was also an early example of break dancing in Indian cinema.
Released on March 30 last year, Humble is the lead single from the American rapper’s fourth studio album, Damn. The song received four Grammy Award nominations, of which it won Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video.
