Indian cricket legend and coach of the junior team Rahul Dravid on Monday said he was uncomfortable with the disparity in prize money given to the support staff of India’s ICC Under-19 World Cup winning side.
After India clinched the title on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced rewards of Rs 50 lakh for Dravid, Rs 30 lakh each for the players and Rs 20 lakh each for the support staff, including fielding coach Abhya Sharma and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.
According to a report in the Indian Express, Dravid requested the BCCI to reward all support staff members evenly.
The former India captain’s humble and selfless gesture had social media drooling.
