After being bumped around by rival releases and running into trouble with the Ministry of Defence, Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary has finally locked its release date: February 16.
The espionage thriller revolves around an Army officer who goes rogue (Sidharth Malhotra) and is hunted down by his comrade in arms (Manoj Bajpayee). The movie was supposed to have been released on February 9 alongside the Akshay Kumar-starrer Pad Man, but was held up by censorship. The Central Board of Film Certification referred the movie to the Ministry of Defence. The ministry has now cleared the film after a few modifications, and the it will be released with a U/A certificate.
The cast includes Rakul Preet Singh, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra and Adil Hussain.
