India’s Neeraj Chopra won silver at the international javelin meet at Offenburg, Germany on Sunday. Competing in his first event of 2018, Chopra threw the javelin as far as 82.80metres to settle for silver as Germany’s Johannes Vetter claimed gold with a throw of 84.08 meters.
With the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games around the corner, this medal would prove to be the confidence boost Chopra requires going ahead in this crucial year. Chopra, the current world junior record holder, performed brilliantly at the indoor event in Germany on Sunday.
