Actors Mohanlal and Prakash Raj will reunite on screen after 20 years for VA Shrikumar Menon’s Odiyan, The News Minute reported. The actors last appeared together in Mani Ratnam’s 1997 Tamil political drama Iruvar, which was loosely based on actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran (played by Mohanlal) and his political rivalry with M Karunanidhi (Prakash Raj).
Both actors will reportedly appear in multiple get-ups for the film. The fantasy thriller also stars Manju Warrier in a pivotal role. Earlier this month, Menon told Times of India that Warrier’s role in the film was “one of the finest” she has played so far. “I believe actors excel in their roles when they share screen space with other brilliant performers,” he said. “In Odiyan, she is pitted against two of India’s finest actors – Mohanlal and Prakash Raj.”
The cast of Odiyan includes Siddique, Innocent, Narain, Kailash, Sana Althaf, Appani Sarath and Nandhu. The film is likely to be released in March or April this year.
