Anushka Sharma’s home production Pari has moved from February 9 to March 2. The announcement came via a short teaser in which Sharma’s face is gradually scarred by wounds. The horror-themed romance has been directed by first-time filmmaker Prosit Roy and stars Sharma along with Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajat Kapoor.
Pari was originally supposed to have been released on February 9, but changed its release date after the last-minute announcement that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat would be on January 25. Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary, which was supposed to have been released on January 26, moved down the calendar to clash with Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ke Sweety. Rather than share precious screen space with two other movies, Pari has moved to March 2. It will be Sharma’s first release after her December wedding with cricketer Virat Kohli. Her company, Clean Slate Productions, has previously made NH10 and Phillauri.
The other scheduled releases for March 2 include the Hindi films Drive and Hate Story 4 and the Hollywood movie Red Sparrow. Meanwhile, Padmavat will clash with R Balki’s Pad Man, starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
