In the trailer for Ashok G’s horror-tinged thriller Bhaagamathie, a political conspiracy lands Anushka Shetty’s character first in jail and then at a palatial but ruined bungalow. “This bungalow can manage to scare a ghost,” a man remarks. The police officer responsible for moving Shetty’s character into the bungalow puts her under camera surveillance. He has evidently not watched Paranormal Activity.
The prisoner becomes Bhaagmathie, the woman who both haunts and hunts. “You can’t just come here and go as if this were a traveller’s lodge,” she says. “This is Bhaagamathie’s den.”
The movie will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam on January 26. Produced by UV Creations, the film also stars Unni Mukundan, Jayaram, Asha Sarath and Aadhi Pinisetty.
