Two year after making headlines for scoring a record 1009 runs during a local school game, Pranav Dhanawade on Thursday smashed 236 for Jhunjhunwala college in a 45-over inter-college game against Guru Nanak college at Cross maidan in Mumbai, Mid-day reported.
The effort helped his college pile on 459 runs, which included a penalty for slow over rate by Guru Nanak College. The opposition were later bowled out for 60 in just 5.2 overs.
“I am happy. I want to make a fresh beginning. I am not thinking too much about my future; just want to enjoy the game,” Dhanawade was quoted as saying.
Dhanawade had scored a headline-grabbing unbeaten 1009 runs for KC Gandhi school in an inter-school tournament in January 2016. But since then he has struggled to meet expectations following the feat.
He recently decided to forego the Rs 10,000 monthly five-year scholarship offered to him by the Mumbai Cricket Association after failing to find form in local tournaments.
