More than 5,000 residents of Bhanakpur village in Haryana’s Faridabad district will get together every day at 8 am from Friday to sing the national anthem, PTI reported.
The authorities have installed 20 loudspeakers and 22 CCTV cameras at a cost of Rs 8 lakh, making Bhanakpur the second village after Jammikunta in Telangana to replicate this system, the state government said.
It was the initiative of the village’s 24-year-old sarpanch, Sachin Madotia, who is also a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist, The Indian Express reported. The local MLA, Bahujan Samaj Party’s MLA Tek Chand Sharma, Faridabad’s Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pratap Singh and the RSS’s Haryana co-convener Ganga Shankar were present at an event on Thursday where the initiative was unveiled.
