In Pakhi Tyrewala’s Kajal, serendipity leads a traumatised wife to find the answer to her troubles, and finally live her life the way she pleases.
A woman (Salony Luthra) lives in constant fear of her husband (Sunil Palwan), who physically and sexually abuses her. He polices most of her decisions, even forbidding her from wearing kohl in her eyes. When she finds abandoned package at a bus stop, she also winds up finding her courage, and begins to stand up to all the men in her life who oppress her.
Kajal has been nominated for the 2018 Filmfare Short Film Awards. The film has been distributed through Pocket Films’ YouTube channel.
