The Department of Personnel and Training has instructed all Indian Administrative Service officers to submit the details of their assets by January 31.
“As per Rule 16(2) of the AIS (Conduct) Rules, 1968, all the members of the IAS are required to submit their Immovable Property Returns [IPRs] (as on January 1) every year, latest by January 31,” Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary PK Tripathi wrote in the letter, dated December 22, to all Central government departments, states and Union territories.
Tripathi added that vigilance clearances needed for promotions and foreign postings may be denied if one fails to comply with the order. The department has also set up an online module to help the officers file details of their immovable property returns.
