“Aren’t you going to work?” someone asks Fahadh Faasil’s layabout in the trailer of his upcoming Malayalam film Carbon. “No, it is rahukaal [an inauspicious time] right now,” he replies and goes for a swim.
Written and directed by National Film Award-winning cinematographer and director Venu, Carbon stars Faasil, Mamta Mohandas and Dileesh Pothan. Faasil’s character whiles away his time by wandering around and buying lottery tickets. A life-altering moment pushes him into living and surviving in an isolated house in the wilderness.
According to a report by The News Minute, the film will also explore the implications of climate change. Carbon is scheduled to be released on January 19.
