United States President Donald Trump was criticised on Sunday after he re-tweeted an altered image that shows a blood-splattered CNN logo under his shoe, The Washington Post reported. The photo is captioned ‘Winning’.
Walter M Shaub Jr, the former director of the Office of Government Ethics who resigned from his position in July after differences with the White House, said the president was hurting and making the US “look weak”.
Others called on the president to delete his tweet and stop attacking people on Twitter. “Grow up sir. Have you no sense of decency?” conservative radio host Joe Walsh asked.
After CNN anchor Jake Tapper pointed out the tweet, a former advisor to the Trump campaign alleged that the blood splatter looked like a squashed bug and accused the journalist of stirring controversy.
