At least six people were killed on Monday after a suicide bomb attack near Afghanistan’s national intelligence agency in Kabul, AFP reported.

The toll may be higher, with some reports, including on the BBC saying at least 10 were killed in the attack. Three people were injured after the attacker, who was on foot, detonated himself.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the strike, according to Reuters.

Security forces cordoned off the area. Six civilians were hit when they were passing the area in their cars, Interior Ministry Spokesperson Najib Danish told AFP. “We still do not know the target of the attack, but it happened on the main road.”

The attack comes exactly a week after the Islamic State group targeted the Afghan intelligence agency training facility in Kabul.
