At least 32 people were killed and many injured near Dubi village in eastern Rajasthan after the bus they were travelling in plunged into the Banas river on Saturday morning, ANI reported. Other reports said the toll is likely to be higher.
“Twenty-six bodies have been recovered,” Circle Officer of the area, Subhash Mishra, said. “Rescue operations are underway to find any survivors.” The injured people were taken to a hospital in Sawai Madhopur district.
Police suspect that the bus driver lost control because of high speed and poor visibility in the morning due to fog, according to The Hindu.
