Tesla X, the coveted electric car with self-driving capability, has made its debut in Indias. The first car in the country is owned by Essar Group CEO Prashant Ruia, and was spotted on spotted on Mumbai’s busy roads (video above) by passers-by.
The X model features a four-wheel drive, standard safety features and a range of 470 km on a single charge of its batteries. Tesla claims it is also the quickest accelerating SUV in production, able to go from zero to 96 km per hour in 2.9 seconds.
Ruia’s is the 16th electric vehicle registered in Mumbai during the current financial year. “Being an electric vehicle, it is exempted from RTO taxes and cess,” an RTO source told The Hindustan Times.
