The police in Rajasthan has arrested a man for allegedly locking his two wives in a car and burning them alive, PTI reported.
The man, Deepa Ram, told the police he set the car on fire as both women did not keep his mother happy.
The incident took place on Tuesday in Rajasthan’s Jalore district. Ram promised both his wives, Daria Devi and Mali Devi, jewellery and took them in his car.
While they were driving, he had an argument with them, said Additional Superintendent of Police Jalore Binja Ram. “He stopped his car on the side of the road, and one of the wives managed to get out and ask for help. But Deepa Ram quickly pushed her back into the vehicle and drove away,” the police officer said.
Deepa Ram drove the vehicle to a secluded place, stepped out and set the car on fire, Binja Ram said. Deepa Ram and his wives have three children.
