The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday ordered doctors who are on strike across the state to resume work immediately, ANI reported. The court also told the state government to not arrest the doctors who return to work.
The fresh strike comes a little over a month after a doctors’ protest crippled healthcare services in several districts of Rajasthan.
Doctors working at government health centres in Rajasthan, who are associated with the All Rajasthan In-Service Doctors Association, have been on strike since Saturday. The strike, which was to start on Monday, began early after the police arrested 55 doctors on the orders of the Vasundhara Raje government to prevent them from stopping work.
On Monday, resident doctors across Rajasthan joined in-service doctors in the strike, DNA reported. As many as 900 resident doctors and 100 senior resident doctors at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur joined the strike on Monday.
