The police on Saturday said that the 15-year-old boy arrested on the charges of murdering his mother and sister has confessed to the crime, IANS reported.
The teenager, who lived in Gaur City in Greater Noida, reportedly took Rs 1.5 lakh-2 lakh cash and his mother’s phone when he left home. He boarded a train to Varanasi and was traced after he called his father from the Mughalsarai railway station in Uttar Pradesh, said Senior Superintendent of Noida Police Luv Kumar. He was found at the Dashashwmedh Ghat at Varanasi on Friday, The Indian Express reported.
The boy, a student of Class 11, reportedly told the police that on Monday, the day of the incident, his mother had beaten him for not studying. He felt angry and suffocated and later that night killed his mother when she was sleeping. He murdered his sister as she had seen him committing the crime.
The boy’s father, who was away in Gujarat on business, said that the teenager was addicted to playing violent video games, which had affected his behaviour, The Hindu reported.
