Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has been handed a two-match suspension and fined Rs 3 lakh for his violent conduct during his side’s Indian Super League match against FC Goa last week.

Sandhu, who is also India’s No 1 goal-keeper, had shoved Goa’s Manuel Lanzarote Bruno on the head from behind after the latter had pushed him.

On Tuesday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee said Sandhu had breached the AIFF Disciplinary Code Article 49 (misconduct against opponents or person other than match officials), based on the referee’s report.
