The BBC on Tuesday apologised after it played the footage of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor while announcing the news of Shashi Kapoor’s demise. Kapoor died on Monday in Mumbai at the age of 79.
Soon, a clip made it to Twitter, where it was criticised by social media users.
News editor Paul Royall later said this was not up to the BBC’s usual standards and apologised for the gaffe.
