BBC One’s animated short promo (above), titled The Supporting Act, has everyone in tears – in the best possible way – as it depicts the events before and during the Christmas Talent show at the Wickley Hill Primary School. Keep the tissues handy as you watch the film, which is set to Zara Larsson and Clean Bandit’s infectious track Symphony.
Charlotte Moore, BBC director of content said: “Christmas is a time when people come together to enjoy shared experiences, and special moments.” That’s exactly what happens in this promo, which adopts the recent approach to animation of combining traditional stop-motion puppets with CGI-created facial expressions.
