A man has been arrested in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan for allegedly raping his seven-year-old daughter several times, police officials told PTI on Saturday. The incident came to light on Friday when an anganwadi worker visited the girl’s house, Jhalawar Deputy Superintendent of Police Chagan Singh Rathore said.
The anganwadi worker found out that the accused, a labourer, had allegedly raped his daughter three or four times a week. The worker informed the Child Welfare Committee in the state and the girl was admitted to a local hospital. She was later counselled by the committee members.
It is not clear yet for how long the accused has allegedly been assaulting the minor. Rathore said the child’s mother had died when she was two-months-old, and she lived with her father and grandmother who is visually-impaired.
