Prithvi Shaw will captain India at the ICC U-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand from January 13 to February 3.
The Junior Selection Committee on Sunday named a 16-member squad the event where they will aim to clinch their fourth title.
Prithvi has been in fine form this season, having smashed five centuries in seven first-class games. As opener for 41-time Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai, Prithvi has scored 521 runs in 10 innings.
A preparatory camp will be held in Bengaluru from Dec 8-22. Prithvi and Bengal’s Ishan Porel have been permitted to join their respective Ranji sides for the quarter-final stage and will join the camp on 12th December.
