In Vignesh Shivn’s Thaana Serndha Koottam (A crowd that gathered on its own), Suriya, fed up of corruption in the country, decides it is time to change things. He doesn’t want to join the police force. (No more Singham, basically). “Namma ippo apdiye vera track,” (let’s try a different method) he declares. The movie is scheduled for a January 2018 release.
The teaser featuring the rest of the cast, which includes Ramya Krishnan, Senthil, Karthik and Keerthy Suresh, details Suriya’s new plan to fight economic inequality. Money needs to be “snatched” from the rich, he explains. He doesn’t want to work alone, though. He makes it clear that he’d like a crowd to join him.
The film, touted to be a remake of Neeraj Pandey’s Special 26 starring Akshay Kumar, is bank-rolled by Studio Green Productions. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack.
