The Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly abducting and murdering a 11-year-old boy in Juhu, PTI reported.
Police said that the man, Ravi Waghela, was related to the boy and strangulated him after he resisted attempts of sodomy and ran. The 11-year-old’s body was found in a creek in Mumbai’s Versova area on November 26.
On November 22, the boy’s family had filed a case of kidnapping with the Juhu Police.
A police officer said Waghela was arrested by the Crime Branch’s Unit 9 after they found that the boy was spotted with him on the day he went missing. “On specific information and technical analysis, the Crime Branch apprehended the accused person and handed him over to the Juhu Police,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli.
Waghela confessed to having abducted the boy on November 22, the police said.
