Ivanka Trump, the daughter and advisor of United States President Donald Trump, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad on Tuesday, ANI reported. Modi and Ivanka Trump met ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Ivanka Trump, who is leading the American delegation, will address the inaugural session of the summit, which is being hosted for the first time in South Asia by the governments of India and the US.

She also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and had a “productive discussion on women entrepreneurship and empowerment,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said on Twitter.

During her upcoming speech at the summit, Ivanka Trump is expected to stress on fuelling the growth of women-led businesses in her speech, PTI reported. She would speak about improving women’s access to capital, networks and mentors and equitable laws, the news agency reported, citing a copy of the excerpts of the speech.

“For the first time, over 50% of the participants [at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit] will be women”, Ivanka Trump told The Times of India in an interview on Tuesday. She added that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused on expanding economic opportunities for the people of India, particularly its women.”

The US president’s daughter and advisor told the daily that India and the US “share common priorities, including promoting economic growth and reform, fighting terrorism, and expanding security cooperation”.
