The body of 23-year-old Territorial Army jawan Irfan Ahmad Dar, who went missing on Friday, was found in the Wothmula Nad area of Keegam village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday morning, ANI reported.
The body was found by locals who then informed the police. “He was perhaps kidnapped by militants,” news agency GNS quoted Senior Superintendent of Police in Shopian Ambarkar Shriram as saying. “His bullet-riddled body was recovered today morning.”
Dar, a resident of Sanzan village, was posted in Gurez in north Kashmir, the police said. They added that he was on leave till November 26.
