The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights has summoned the principal and three other staffers of Maxfort School in Delhi’s Dwarka area where a four-year-old boy sexually assaulted a classmate on November 17, The Hindu reported.
“Considering the seriousness of the matter you are asked to appear before the commission on November 27 and bring along the two teachers concerned and the ‘aaya’,” the panel said in a notice issued to the school.
The girl on November 17 complained to her mother of pain in her lower abdomen. Later that evening, she told her her classmate had used his finger and a sharpened pencil to rape her. She was taken to a hospital, but the pain did not subside. “She tried pushing him, but could not get away as other children had left and there was no staff around,” the mother said in the First Information Report filed at the Dwarka (South) police station.
Doctors reportedly confirmed that the four-year-old boy had sexually assaulted the girl, PTI reported.
The mother informed a teacher about the incident that day and complained to the school administration again the next day but was reportedly told to register a written complaint. She has accused the school administration of negligence and demanded that officials running the institute be booked under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The school, however, denied the allegation and said they were cooperating with the police, PTI reported. The school’s lawyer S Rajapa said that a helper is always present in the washrooms. “All necessary actions are being taken to help the investigating agency to probe the alleged incident,” he added.
