A First Information Report was filed against two students from Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday after they allegedly did not stand up for the national anthem, ANI reported. The two are students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri district.
A video of the incident, believed to have taken place on Wednesday, was shared on social media. It shows the duo taking selfies at their seats while the national anthem was being sung at a function on the university campus. Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra was among the chief guests at the event.
“Disciplinary action will follow, and law will take its own course,” District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told IANS, adding that they had sought a report from the university.
