At least 32 people were killed in a car bombing on Tuesday in a town north of Baghdad in Iraq, AP reported.
Some 75 people were wounded after a suicide bomber detonated a truck laden with explosives near a crowded marketplace in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, unidentified police and medical officials told Reuters.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Tuz Khurmatu is a contested town that is claimed by both Iraqi forces, which have mostly Shiite fighters, and the Kurdish people. The explosion took place in an area home to mostly Shiite Turkmen.
Clashes between Iraqi troopers and the Kurdish peshmerga forces in Tuz Khurmatu escalated after last month’s referendum vote by the Kurdish people.
