Cristiano Ronaldo is facing his worst goal drought since his debut with Real Madrid. Yes, you read that right. The FIFA 2017 player of the year, coming from an incredible season in 2016/17, has had one of the worst starts to a season. EVER.
The winger has failed to score in any of his last four LaLiga matches and as a result the team is suffering. Their talisman is not producing and for the first time in his glorious Real Madrid career, the Portuguese forward cannot be relied upon.
It’s not just that. His conversion rate has been the worst among all goalscorers in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season at 2.5%.
And he’s not getting any support from his teammates either. Ronaldo and Karim Benzema (1 La Liga goal each) are the worst attacking duo this season. Of all the 98 clubs in Europe’s top 5 leagues, only Iemmello y Coda from the 20th place Serie A club Benevento have a worse record.
