A moment is all it takes to bring out entitled behaviour. And it still shocks people when the perpetrator is actually a minister.
It was Karnataka’s state energy minister DK Shivakumar. At a child rights event in Belgaum (video above), the minister swatted away the arm of a man who was standing behind him, trying to take a selfie – not with the minister.
When asked why he did this, Shivakumar simply called it a “normal incident”. According to ANI, he was quoted as saying: “Have basic common sense. When I’m doing my responsibility and addressing the press how can someone come out for a selfie?”
Shivakumar’s house was raided by Income Tax authorities in August 2017, after which Rs 300 crore was reportedly found in cash, besides jewellery worth nearly Rs 15 crore.
