The Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital in Bihar has fined 54 students Rs 25,000 each for repeatedly ragging a junior, the Hindustan Times reported on Sunday.
The college took action against the women after the student lodged a complaint with the Medical Council of India.
Students from both first and second year were among those fined, according to The Times of India. While the senior students allegedly hazed the complainant, the juniors were punished for refusing to identify the guilty.
The complainant wrote to the Medical Council of India on November 11, claiming seniors repeatedly ragged her and her batchmates and forced them to perform “embarrassing acts”.
