At first glance, it looks like an epic holiday – and not much more. A young woman travels abroad to an exotic destination, meets the “love of her life” and has a life-changing adventure. Then, she neatly records it all into a hi-tech postcard for her best friend.

So what sets this particular postcard apart? The fact that it’s from the year 2037.

And that there’s a twist to the summer romance. Not one twist, but two. A two-word hint: “technology market”.

Made by Device, a Barcelona-based creative studio that focuses on animation, the short film offers an imaginative glimpse of the near future which is part-amazing, part-tragic.
