Actor Dev Patel will be a part of the cast of Michael Winterbottom’s The Wedding Guest, reported Variety. The film will be largely set in India, and Winterbottom, the director of Welcome to Sarajevo (1997), The Road to Guantanamo (2006), Trishna (2011) and The Emperor’s New Clothes (2015), is currently scouting for locations in the country, added the publication.
Winterbottom shot Trishna in India as well as portions of A Mighty Heart (2007) and Code 46 (2003). Principal photography is expected to begin in January 2018. The movie will be produced by Winterbottom’s Revolution Films and Riverstone Pictures, co-founded by Deepak Nayar.
This will be Patel’s 11th film after Slumdog Millionaire (2008) The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011), The Man Who Knew Infinity (2016) and Lion (2016).
