The National Association of Software and Services Companies – better known as Nasscom – is set to have its first female president. The trade body on Friday named Debjani Ghosh its president-designate to succeed R Chandrashekhar after his tenure ends in March.
“I am happy to pass on the baton to Debjani, and I am sure with her experience and leadership, Nasscom and the industry will scale greater heights of success,” Chandrashekhar said. “I wish her all the best.”
Ghosh has been a member of Nasscom’s Executive Council and a trustee of the Nasscom Foundation. She was a managing director of Intel South Asia, too.
Nasscom Chairperson Raman Roy said her appointment reflected “the importance of diversity and inclusion, which is a key pillar for the industry”. “Under Debjani’s leadership, Nasscom will further enhance its initiatives in innovation, disruptive technologies, skilling and new market access,” he added.
