A behind-the-scenes documentary on Manchester City’s 2017-18 campaign is to be screened by Amazon, the Premier League leaders announced on Thursday. The multi-episode series will launch on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories next year as part of what is reported to be a lucrative deal.

Pep Guardiola’s high-scoring City are strong favourites to win the Premier League title, having surged eight points clear at the top of the table, and have also reached the Champions League last 16.

“We are delighted to begin this strategic relationship with Amazon, one of the world’s leading companies,” said City chief executive Ferran Soriano in a press release. “Amazon Prime Video is the perfect home for a ground-breaking project that will offer a unique and authentic inside view into Manchester City’s season like never before. This is an extremely exciting time for Manchester City and through Amazon’s world-class service, we will be able to share it with football fans all over the world.”

American tech giant Amazon has already produced two series of a documentary programme called ‘All Or Nothing’, which follows the fortunes of NFL teams the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams.

Last month, Italian giants Juventus announced they will feature in a four-part documentary series produced by Netflix in 2018.
