Apple’s iPhone X was up for grabs in most online and offline stores in India from 6 pm on Friday. The phone’s 64 GB version is priced at Rs 89,000, and the 256 GB version will cost Rs 1.02 lakh. It will be available in two colours – space grey and silver.
Serpentine queues were seen outside Apple stores across the country, but resellers said these were only of people who had pre-booked the phone. Apple premium resellers said they had received limited stocks, according to IANS. According to the report, the waiting period could be between five and seven weeks for those who didn’t pre-book the device.
Many telecom operators, including Reliance Jio and Airtel, had announced offers for Apple users interested in the tech giant’s latest launch. Flipkart – Apple’s authorised online reseller in India – has an offer on Citibank credit cards users.
Apple on Thursday reported a quarterly revenue of $52.6 billion (approximately Rs 3.4 lakh crore), a 12% increase year on year, Reuters reported. The tech giant said international sales accounted for 62% of the quarter’s revenue, and that it had registered a double-digit growth in India during this period.
