Suspected militants killed the youth wing president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday, the police said. Gowhar Ahmad Bhat was found with his throat slit in Kiloora region of South Kashmir, the Greater Kashmir reported.
Shopian Superintendent of Police Shri Ram said they were investigating the incident “from all angles”. There were visible marks on Bhat’s body, suggesting torture, The Kashmir Dispatch reported.
The BJP youth wing had held its first convention in Srinagar on October 23.
