Gagan Narang bounced back from the disappointment of missing out on a medal in the 10m air rifle event to clinch the silver medal in 50m rifle prone in the Commonwealth Shooting Championship in Brisbane on Thursday.
The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist managed a total of 246.3 in the final to finish behind Australia’s Dane Sampson, who scored a total of 247.7. India’s Swapnil Kusale bagged the bronze with a total of 225.6.
Kusale had qualified for the final in third spot with a score of 619.1 while Narang was a spot behind with a total of 617.6.
In the women’s 25m Pistol event, all three Indians have made it to the final with Annuraj Singh and Rahi Sarnobat finishing second and third respectively in the qualifying with a score of 578. Heena Sidhu, who won the gold in 10m Air Pistol event, was the fifth best qualifier with a score of 571.
