Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his “Mann ki Baat” address on Sunday, praised India’s “courageous soldiers” for their determination and bravery in keeping our borders and nation safe. “It was an honour for me that I got to spend Diwali with our brave jawans,” he said.
Modi also lauded India’s contribution to the United Nations’ peacekeeping missions, saying Indian troops play a vital role in the operations across the world. He said India also trained peacekeepers in around 85 countries. “Our brave peacekeepers have conveyed the message of peace and harmony around the world,” he said in his monthly radio address.
The prime minister also spoke about the benefits of yoga and encouraged youngsters to practice yoga to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep diseases at bay. He congratulated Indian sportspersons for their recent accomplishments in hockey, football and badminton, as well.
