Dora the Explorer, the lead character from Nickelodeon’s longest-running series, will soon be seen on the big screen. A live action film on Dora is in the works at Paramount, reported Entertainment Weekly. Directed by Nicholas Stoller of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Neighbours fame, the film will be produced by Michael Bay.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dora will be seen as a teenager in the movie. “Details are being kept under wraps, but the live-action take is said to centre on Dora, not as a 7-year-old as on the TV series but now a teenager who moves to the city to live with her cousin Diego,” said the publication.
The television series Dora The Explorer made its debut in 2000 and ran up till 2014. Over the course of 172 episodes, Dora along with her monkey Boots, went on various adventures.
