The first trailer of Season 11 of The X-Files features Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) facing an alien invasion as they continue searching for their long-lost son William. The trailer was unveiled by producers Fox during the New York Comic Con.
Apart from the Cigarette-Smoking Man, who is set to get a backstory, the first episode also offers a glimpse of Assistant Director Skinner, and lone gunman Richard Langley, who was presumed dead. The trailer concludes with Scully asserting, “The truth still lies in the X files, Mulder.”
Created by Chris Carter, the science fiction series revolves around Mulder and Scully investigating unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. It originally aired on Fox from 1993 to 2002. After two feature films, the series was revived for its tenth season in January 2016. The eleventh season will be premiered on Fox in early 2018.
