A court in Gujarat’s Visnagar on Thursday cancelled the non-bailable arrest warrant against Patidar leader Hardik Patel on a bond of Rs 5,000 and granted him bail, India Today reported. Patel and six others were accused of vandalising Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Rishikesh Patel’s office during the Patel quota agitation in 2015.
Patel, who said on Wednesday that he was ready to surrender to the police, appeared before the court on Thursday afternoon. The warrant was issued after he did not turn up before the court for the second time in connection with the case filed by the BJP MLA.
The case will be next heard on November 15.
