An man barged into the office of Russian radio station Ekho Moskvy and stabbed one of its anchors in the neck on Monday, the broadcaster said. The Moscow police have arrested the attacker, Boris Grits, but said it was not yet clear what prompted the attack, BBC reported.

The journalist, Tatyana Felgengauer, is in hospital but is out of danger, Reuters reported. Felgengauer is the deputy chief editor at Ekho Moskvy, which often broadcasts opinions critical of the Kremlin, the report said. Some employees said the attacker entered the studio after using a pepper spray on a security guard, The Guardian reported.

“Tanya is in hospital, her condition is serious but not critical, the attacker has been apprehended,” Vitaly Ruvinsky, Ekho’s website editor, wrote on Facebook. He also put up photos of the police detaining the man.

Earlier this year, one of the station’s regular broadcasters, Yulia Latynina, said she was forced to flee Russia after several attacks on her, including the torching of her car.
