Namak Halaal’s disco hit Raat Baaki has been given a makeover in Ittefaq, the upcoming remake of the 1969 film of the same name. Abhay Chopra’s movie, starring Akshaye Khanna, Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra, will be released on November 3.
Called Ittefaq Se, the chill house recreation by Tanishk Bagchi is spared trendy gimmickry such as rap or beat drop. Jubin Nautyal and Nikita Gandhi have provided the vocals. The song tips a hat to the spirit of the original Bappi Lahiri composition by sticking to its club ethos and not branching out in any strange directions. Among the changes, the most glaring one is “Mujhe pyaar se”, after the hookline, which has been replaced by “Ittefaq se”.
The video focuses on the three leads. Malhotra and Sinha lip-sync while Akshaye Khanna, who plays a police officer, grimaces throughout.
